Keeping Busy in the Hot, Hot Summer

It's been a relatively quiet summer for us. Andy has finished up camp, and we've got one more month before school starts. Thankfully, we've got a great group of friends, who also have small kids, so we've been to the pool, played at the airport playground, and had lots of playdates. We're getting ready for our trip to MI to see lots of family, we're looking forward to a nice change, and hopefully some cooler weather!

I'm doing my very best to pick my battles, not always well, but I'm trying. This is one of those instances where I didn't agree with the game, but the new rule is "if it isn't hurting anyone, why not?" Poor Apollo's crate is full of books and Andrew's pillow (yuck). I often remind myself that it's probably against the law to lock the door and leave, it's a nice thought anyway!

God love this! Andrew brought the trash cans in without being asked. I can't imagine that he will always be my little helper, but it at least gives me a big smile right now!

Camp Weeks

We've been trying to keep our little guys busy during the hot, hot summer. Andrew has done 2 weeks at different camps, and loved them both.

And, finally, Matthew is a full blown walker! He tried it a few weeks ago, and he's been steady ever since. He's already on his 2nd new pair of shoes, reminder to self: get a photo!

From cooking camp! He loves to pull a chair over to the counter, and help mix or break eggs. He did tell me that one day they cut with knives. Not sure how accurate that was, but someone was brave!

Matthew is trying to keep busy with big brother not at home. Let's hope this doesn't mean he's going to texting & driving at the same time!

This was Matt's reaction upon coming home from dropping Andy at camp. Let's just say he wasn't too happy to be stuck at home with Mom.
