Spring Time Fun

Sometimes I feel like this blog will never be up to date.  I am very jealous of my friends that are able to post often and so quickly after an event.  I am really trying to not ever get more than one month behind, but I'll keep working on it!

Uncle Nick & Uncle Chris moved to Huntsville in March, and the boys and I went to visit during Spring Break.  We decided to go have dinner at Uncle Nick's new restaurant, and found ourselves in a bad storm.  I had a small moment of panic thinking we were all going to have to dive into a ditch (Northern Alabama has seen its fair share of tornadoes recently); however, we were fine, and got to see 2 rainbows (so clear, and you could see both ends).  They seemed so close, I considered going to look for a pot of gold!
 - disclaimer, this was awful traffic, we had been stopped for many minutes, no one was harmed during the taking of this photograph
So, somehow we've already reached the high 80's in temperature, it's been a very early & hot Spring, what better reason to break out the popsicles
In March we went back for Andy's annual nut allergy check-up, I forget that he is technically allergic to eggs, so we had to retest for them to see if anything had changed.  We had one appointment with the skin test, and the doctor thought it best to go for blood work.  It is one thing to give a small child a shot, it's another thing entirely to hold down a small child to get two viles of blood.  As usual, Andrew did great, and hopefully we won't have to do this next year.
We have been outside a lot enjoying this great weather, and I decided I should take advantage of being out as well.  So, I have taken up running.  I love it, and have become a bit addicted, the only problem is that I do most of my running around the cul-de-sac.  The boys are interested about 75% of the time, so some of the time they ride bikes, and sometimes they "run" with me!
Matthew is still our quiet, reserved boy, but he also instigates most issues with Andrew.  He is being every bit the two year old, and trying to see where his antics will get him.  On this particular night, he didn't want to come inside so he "ran away", I couldn't help but capture the photo.

A-DAY!!

Anne an I have been trying to get to Auburn for a little while, and the spring football game was the perfect excuse.  It was great of Peg and the girls to come experience the madness with us!
We almost all made the photo, Matt is still terrified of characters, so we stayed back and took some pictures
they do a great job organizing family activities for A-Day, this was 5 of the 6 kids jumping, maybe next year Dottie will join in!
some of the activities are meant for older kids, but we tried them all,
check out that wind-up
had to try for at least one shot with Mom
One of the highlights for Andrew, after coming back from the bathroom, he says to me,"can I have my picture with the policeman?"
I think he enjoyed some of the football game, we're still working on pronunciation, but he was really happy to shout "More Eagle" (War Eagle for those of you that don't follow AU sports)

Easter 2012

Sorting Easter candy takes on a whole new meaning when there is an allergy in the house!  We have found that most chocolate is out, as well as most jelly beans.  Mom and Dad do enjoy eating the "bad" candy!

Andy's basket was full, so he decided to help to Matt
The dump truck Easter baskets continue to be a hit
Matt got the idea, and gave up the basket
Andrew was pretty into the Easter bunny this year, he even got his picture taken.  He was excited to get up on Sunday morning to find out if the bunny had stopped at our house.

Happy Birthday Cole

We got to help celebrate our neighbor's 5th birthday last weekend. Andrew & Cole sprint to see each other as soon as the garage doors go up. The theme was a police party, and the boys have been embracing it wholeheartedly!
We think he is over his fear of pinatas, he may have been cheating, just a little bit!
A nice police officer came to the party, and he let the boys check out the car and all his stuff
The theme from all the parents was, "hopefully this will be the only time our children are in a police car"!!!

Fun Activities

How is it April already??
We have been having a great spring time, mainly watching these two little guys turn into big boys! It's been really fun to see what the boys are capable of, and we're looking forward to all the new things we can try this year!
Can't go wrong with a little play time at PDK. It is so much fun to let them play, and to take a break and watch the planes take off. It's hard to believe that it's 80+ degrees outside!
We checked out the new LegoLand, and it was Great!! The boys loved all of it, of course they loved building cars and racing them down the ramp!
We went to see the Harlem Globetrotters, not sure they appreciated it, but still so fun!
The Children's Museum, painting up a mess
First time at the circus. They know how to get the kids, Andrew's said,"I need one of those guys to bring me a toy." He had that sword and light up mohawk 15 seconds later. We think he liked the stuff better than the performance, but we're working on it!!

Silly Boys

This kid can't get enough lightning mcqueen
This kid can't get enough spiderman/batman (I'm washing the shirts everyday)
Saw big brother do this, not sure how effective it is when you have a diaper on
Mr. Potato Head is missing his glasses
Oh, sleepy boys! They watched a movie while we had a small group meeting downstairs, can't believe they fell asleep, hated to move them
