Andrew's First Swim Meet

Our pool's swim team, the Ragin' Rays, has a group for the younger kids who are still learning the basics, called the Risin' Rays.  It's basically the 4-7 year olds who aren't ready for the big Tuesday night meets.  They practice every day, and the meets are on Saturday morning.
We had low expectations for Andrew's first meet, he usually swims about 100 feet and then grabs the lane rope to catch his breath.
 On the block . . .
 Blowing away the competition
For the little kids, a coach stays in the lane, just in case, and Coach Justin was awesome, he kept Andrew off the lane rope!!

1st place!!! We are so proud!
The U-6 kids only do freestyle & backstroke
Coach Martha is helping Andy work on his arms!

We have been so impressed with the swim program.  We just wanted Andy to get some extra swim lessons, and who knew how much he would improve.  It's hard to believe he's only 4!

Strawberry Picking

We hit up the strawberry fields with some friends.  The last time we tried this, Matt was still crawling, so it was fun to watch Andrew give him instructions: only the red ones, only the big ones!

 Is this a good one?

 Who are these big guys???
Ryder, Hadley, Andrew, Addison, & Matthew

We're hoping to go back soon for blueberries!!  We did learn from this trip not to go after a big rain, unless you like traipsing through mud!!
