Lunch & the Lake

We got to spend a wonderful weekend at the lake (thanks to the Johnstons' & Nevins')

It was so nice to get out of town for the weekend, and the boys all had a blast playing together

Ethan attempted to teach Andrew how to play ping pong. It was entertaining

One afternoon the boys decided to play "lunch", they carried their lunch boxes around filled with "food", and moved all around the house until they found a quiet spot to eat (this was about the 7 or 8th location)

Having Some Fun . . .

The weather is finally turning cooler, yeah hooray! We've been able to get outside and enjoy. I am terrified of our driveway, especially Matt riding a bike down the driveway, with Andrew pushing, yikes. I know there will be more bruises and scrapes, but it's hard to believe that we've got 2 steady walkers, and a street full of awesome kids to play with.

We love the zoo!! It took him about 10 minutes to get up here, and he was determined to do it himself, had to get a picture! Matt on the other hand is terrified of the statues, and runs away crying.

He does however, make a cute meerkat. He does have a funny way about popping his head up, so kind of fitting! On a side note, we've started to let Matt walk the zoo. He loves to explore, so it's perfect, and of course we've got the stroller for when he gets tired.

Our fun activity of the summer was to do a class at gymboree. The boys both loved it, and it was a nice way to get out during the summer. The thing I love about this picture is the matching outfits. They've got very few of the same clothes, and Andrew actually picked out the matching shirts, so cute!

School Starts

We were very excited to start school again, I forgot how great it is for Andrew to be around other kids learning new things. He is going three days a week in the Giraffe class, and it's so nice to pick him up and have a chat about his day, such a change in a summer.

We also decided that Matthew should try a day at school, so it won't be such a shock next year, and so that Mommy can have a little time to herself.

It has been a wonderful 3 weeks, and we're looking forward to a really great year.

New school shoes!! Not a lot of choices, so we went for the same, Andrew is all about matching

First day! Such a handsome little guy. So proud of him, jumped right out the car, and didn't look back!

We've got a smiley guy!! He was excited to go in, not so happy to have mom leave. Teachers say he's good as soon as I'm gone. Love the smiles I get when I walk to the door and say his name!

Matthew does enjoy Andrew being at school too. He plays with all the toys, and for some reason, feels that he needs to ride in Andrew's carseat. Strange, but who knows!

Best story from the start of school: On Matthew's first day, when Andrew got out of the car at carpool, he went over to Matt and gave him a hug. And, when I picked the boys up that afternoon, Andrew's teacher kept saying that he missed his baby brother. So Sweet!!

Andrew Turns 3

So, I guess when you turn 3, you get 3 parties. Hopefully this will not become a yearly trend. However, it was great fun to celebrate with our little man, even if we had a couple "lightning mcqueen" cakes.

This kid is better at Memory than we are, just have to reel in his excitement when he sees the other player turn over the pieces. He instantly grabs the match. It's great!

If you ever need a gift idea for a toddler/preschooler: a musical card. They get played over and over until the music/battery dies.

Figured we might need to start learning some skills at home before we sign-up for any organized sports!
