Keeping Busy

Matthew has gotten quite adventurous! He's still our calm, cautious little man, but he's becoming very interested in a lot of things (the stairs, the garbage can, and helping to unload the dishwasher)! No walking yet, but I'm sure it's not far away.
It has been nice to get some time alone with Matthew while Andy is at school. It is really great to see him explore the playroom and the toys without wondering if they will be snatched away at any time. His personality is fabulous, and he's got these looks that I hope to capture. Brian often says that he's looking at me like Stewie looks at Lois on Family Guy. His latest look is handing me his cup, and looking at me as if to say, "ok, hold my milk while I drink." Lots of laughs!
This is rare! Brian gave in to the bad weather for just one day, and stayed home with us while the roads were too icy to drive on. Of course, he still had work to do, so he set up in the dining room. I guess Andrew needed to get to the office too, he started with his laptop, and then added Matthew's phone to make his workspace complete. I think it was a very successful day!

Snow, Again . . .

Our only viable sledding option was the trash can lid, but Andy was not a fan, so it didn't matter.
Making snow balls is fun!

The snow was pretty when it started, but the freezing rain that followed was not so much fun! It created a lovely layer of ice over our snow. If you look closely at the picture, Andrew isn't breaking through the ice, so it was a bit slippery for him! We did get out a few times to walk around and make snow balls, but we spent most of our time trying to stay busy (sane) inside!
I keep thinking that we should take a picture with Matthew in the snow, but he was born in the snow of 2010, so some of his first pictures have snow in the background, hard to believe, it's snowed 3 or 4 times in that year! We'll bring him out when he can participate in the snowball fights!

Matthew is 1!!!

Oh my goodness, this toy looks like fun!!
Another fun toy to share with big brother!

This stuff isn't so bad once you get into it!

I guess I'll try a little!

So we learned that we will have to be a lot creative to plan good birthday parties for our little man whose birthday is 10 days after Christmas. We started with an easy theme of football! When your party is on New Year's Day, the other topic of conversation is about the games on tv, so we were very happy to host the 1st Annual Matthew's Birthday Bowl!! I know who the big winner is!!
